Almost without thinking, Anna pushed away from the security of the car and took a half step toward him. There was no mistaking Luke’s sharp inhale, nor the way his fingers readjusted their grasp to cup her elbow and jerk her close, erasing that final gap between them.

The subtle spice of his masculine cologne hit her, and, oh man, but it was utterly delicious. She wanted to press her nose to his neck and inhale, maybe even run her tongue along the outer rim of his ear before begging him to claim her mouth with his.

Her hand found the hard plane of his chest, the fabric of his cotton T-shirt bunching under her fingers. “Now who’s evading?” she taunted with a half-grin.

She still couldn’t make out his expression, so it came as a surprise when she found her back abruptly pushed up against the car again.

His hands captured her wrists, tugging them up to the hood of her car, just above her head. And, oh my God, but he made no attempt to shield his hips from hers. He was packing, that was for sure. A pistol formed exclusively for a woman’s pleasure.

He settled his hips between hers, dropping his head to her ear to rasp, “What exactly are you asking for here, Anna?”

Anna’s tongue felt swollen, clumsy. Anticipation, maybe. Five years’ worth of pent up lust, most definitely. “I told you,” she whispered, her voice sounding rough even to her own ears, “I want to meet a nice guy who will learn to love Julian.”

Though the words were true, they hung hollow in the air and he certainly caught on.

“That’s not all you want,” he said gruffly, his mouth so close to the column of her neck that as he spoke his lips rasped against her sensitive flesh, drawing out goosebumps and a shiver down her spine.

Their entire relationship had been one set after another of challenges, games. Who was she to stop that now? She shifted her lower body to better cradle his hips, making them both moan at the intimate contact. “Tell me what I want then, since you know all.”

His mouth brushed the underside of her chin. “Me.”

Vampire's Soul (Vampire Queen XIV) by Joey W. Hill

Vampire's Soul

Vampire Queen Series, Book XIV

by  Joey W. Hill

Loss left them only rage...Until they found each other…
Cai doesn’t want to be with anyone. He doesn’t want a damn servant, he doesn’t want
to be associated with damn vampires. Rand just wants to forget his human side, stay
in his wolf form and find a satisfying and hopefully violent, bloody way to bring it all to
an end.
But when a young female vampire’s life is at stake, the Vampire Council drafts Cai to
enter a dark world he never wanted to visit again. Rand is too honorable to let him go
alone, and the only way that can work is if he’s Cai’s fully marked servant, bound to the
vampire for all eternity.
So fate decides these two lost souls need each other. Even if they have to tear each
other apart to figure it out.

Excerpt

Holy crap… It couldn’t be. A freaking shifter.

There were rumors of their existence, so unsubstantiated they could be called fairy tales. Yet being a vampire, and knowing that a lot of what humans called imaginary creatures could exist, Cai wasn’t in the habit of asserting something couldn’t, just because he hadn’t seen it. Even so, he’d never heard of anyone who’d seen a wolf shifter.

He was seeing one now.

The transformation energy cocooned the wolf like rope, tightening, pulling his body in multiple directions. If every shift was this brutal, Cai had no idea why any wolf shifter would do so voluntarily, and maybe they didn’t. But he had to wonder if the wolf’s obvious ferocious struggle against the transition was making it even more excruciating.

Maybe he thought he was more vulnerable to Cai in that form. He probably was, but…

Cai drew closer. The wolf seemed almost insensible to him now, so he dropped to his heels next to him and laid a hand on his fur. The covering felt much thinner, like a silk scarf instead of a thick pelt. That scarf was about to tear.

The magic coiled around the shifter snapped away, striking Cai with stinging heat before it dis-apparated the wolf. The shift had seemed gradual, torturous, but then, in a final blink, there he was. Cai was staring at a man lying against the corpse of another, their blood mixed together and soaking the earth beneath them.

Hellfire.

Cai’s gaze traveled over the shifter. As a wolf, he’d been as big as a black bear. As a human, he kept the same impressive build. Snarled, long brown hair tangled over broad shoulders, his wide chest covered with a temptingly thick mat of gleaming chestnut hair that arrowed down to genitals and tree trunk thighs. In the naked male’s position, sprawled on one hip, Cai had a good view of his ass.

An ass worth saving.

Synopsis

Fate is a
fickle mistress. No matter a man’s desires, she tends to give with one hand,
and take with the other. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter to her, as long as
there’s balance.

Ralph
Lewis, otherwise known as Po’Boy, made one decision that changed the trajectory
of his entire life. On the losing end of a schoolyard fight, he’d been on his
back in the dust, glaring up at the boy who’d flattened him. Had watched
unbelieving as that same boy stretched out his hand, offering to help Ralph to
his feet. Against every instinct, he had accepted.

In that
instant, he went from friendless pariah to having a partner and ally. For the
first time in his life, he was respected ... and feared. Po’Boy spent the next
decade defending his position at his best friend’s side. Life was good. Fate
has a way of taking back the reins, though.

A
long-ago action places him directly in the crosshairs of their enemies, and
circumstances force Po’Boy’s hand. Members of motorcycle clubs, men like him
who live an outlaw’s life don’t treat kindly with traitors, and in their world,
that is what Po’Boy has become.

With
events threatening to pull him away from everything he holds dear, he’s made to
walk a careful line to keep those he loves safe. Bound by silence, for his
brothers’ sake, he’ll suffer through the worst thing that can happen to a man
who lives and breathes the brotherhood. Out Bad.

Excerpt One

From
Chapter Five

Po’Boy opened his eyes a slit to see a figure looming over him
in the darkness. The flaring light from the bonfire was barely enough to let
him recognize an ally, Wrench. A CoBo member who had known Penny her entire
life. One who had a thing for her once, giving way when Twisted staked his
claim. Wrench was looking down at Po’Boy, and he was about to sit up and greet
him when the expression on the man’s face caught his attention.

It was avid. Hungry.

Wrench’s gaze was trailing along Po’Boy’s form, pausing at his
chest, then moving down to his crotch. His nostrils flared, and the muscles in
his jaw tensed, jumping as he ground his teeth together.

Aroused.

Po’Boy’s cock twitched, and the movement must have been
visible because he watched as Wrench’s tongue came out in a languorous swipe
across his bottom lip. What the fuck?

A sound from by the bonfire pulled Wrench’s gaze away, and he
took a step backwards, then two, before turning and stalking into the darkness.

What. The. Fuck?

Excerpt Two

Chapter
Seventeen
Po’Boy
Po’Boy waited in silence, or as much silence as he could
manage. It was hard and becoming more difficult by the second as the pressure
on his hand increased. Twisting his neck, he looked, even as he told himself
not to, and saw the balloon-like swelling of his fingers, skin stretched taut.
Purple with pooling blood, he didn't know how much more strain his flesh could
take without bursting. For a moment he reconsidered the silent thing, because
while screaming wouldn’t help, it couldn’t hurt.
The trap was simple, and elegant. Noose around his ankle,
tight and secure, positioned where he couldn't reach. It had been laid in a
hallway, rag rug tossed over it to conceal the presence of the rope. All it
took was him creeping through the darkness looking for Deuces, and a step in
the wrong place. Snap, the trap tripped, and he'd been dragged down the hallway
like a rabbit lure at hound races.
The one on his hand was harder to explain, but he remembered
reaching out for something, anything to slow his terrifying rush up the
hallway. Pulled to a jolting stop, his shoulder joint stretched to near
breaking, anchored to a point somewhere along the path. Once the shock wore
off, he'd looked up to see a thin wire wrapped around his hand and wrist. But
the motor pulling on his leg hadn’t stalled. Oh, no. That bitch is quality
machinery. Fuck. Hadn't stopped and was actively pulling, whining as it worked
overtime to continue its job. The wire around his wrist was small, thin, and
looked disturbingly like a cheese slicer against his skin.
Images from text books ran through his mind, of men suspended
from ropes, tied to four horses, one for each appendage. Drawn and quartered,
but in his case he figured it was halved. The sound of the motor changed,
nearly stalling, and he hoped this meant the clutch was giving out. Fucking
finally. Then another sound rattled through the hallway, and he twisted his
head to look towards the front of the building. Standing in the opening was a
man. He wasn’t moving, was just standing there quietly. From the tilt of his
head, Po’Boy knew he was looking down at him. Not moving, not jumping to help,
not saying anything.
Not friend, then. Can’t hurt to ask. It did hurt like a
motherfucker just to lay there, so asking was where he’d head.
“Little help?” Rough and hoarse from holding quiet for so
long, Po’Boy watched as the man’s head swung back and forth, slowly. “Oh, come
on, man. You can’t be fuckin’ serious.”
“As a heart attack,” the man told him, stepping forwards and
into the light shining through a window in a room opening onto the hallway.
Slender, with long red hair pulled low on his neck into a simple queue, the man
looked like anyone you might pass on the street. Nondescript, dressed in
clothes which wouldn’t pull someone’s gaze twice. He was everybody, and nobody.
“You’re in quite the pickle, Po’Boy.”
Well, fuck. If he knows who I am, then I’m screwed. The motor
whined and stuttered, then caught, and at the resulting yank, Po’Boy felt the
cable around his hand break the skin, finally.

In The Series

Legends are born from moments like these. Folktales spun around a single point in time so perfect, you can almost hear the click resonating through the universe as things align.

George Bell, aka Twisted, knows the odds are against him. Have been all his life. Born in a Louisiana bordello, raised around the rough and rowdy men of a motorcycle club, he’s never been the lucky type. But he believes luck can change, so when fate gives him a glimpse of breathtaking beauty, he’s more than willing to roll the dice. Chancing upon what could be the woman of his dreams, he’s prepared to push this streak as far as he can.

Penny Dane’s background gives her an edge in the life she’s chosen to lead. Raised in a can-do family, she’s resilient, rolling with life’s punches and landing on her feet. But, when the past holds painful secrets—when a single misstep can turn deadly—can she trust the passion this man stirs in her?

On the surface, Bell and Penny don’t work. Their mismatched worlds are too different. But like a backwater bayou, what you see is not the whole story, there are mysteries buried underneath. Penny is the red-haired beauty caught up in a web of lies. Bell is like no one she’s ever met before. The problem is, he knows it.

18+ due to explicit content.

Title: Dismissed
Series: Smirnov Bratva #4
Author: TL Smith
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: September 21
A heart is something that should not be entrusted to me.
I will tear, crush, and destroy it with my very own hands.
Then back away with a smile on my face.
It’s who I am—a killer, a player, a joker.
But hers, I’m unsure about.
Do I want to rupture and rip it from her chest?
Or do I want to hold and capture it with my own?

Anton
Her scent invades me, it’s all I can smell when I wake up, and it’s fucking brilliant. Just as she was last night, even if it meant I had to shut up to taste her and to fuck her again. What a wild drug she fucking is.
“I can hear you thinking, stop it,” she grumbles into my arm as she sleeps. “Gosh, how are your thoughts so loud?” She moves to get away from me, but I pull her back then pin her beneath me. She doesn’t fight me, just smirks. “I need coffee,” she says.
“You need a breath mint,” I retort back, scrunching up my nose.
“Oh my God, you so did not say that. I’m meant to have sweet breath…” I blow into my hand to smell, “… no morning breath here. Gosh, you kill the buzz fast.” She wiggles underneath me, which in turn moves on my already hard cock. I could say it’s morning wood, but that would only be a half-truth.
“You want me to lie and tell you, you smell like fucking daisies?” I ask her, confused. She shakes her head. “I can see if you smell like daisies. There’s a particular area where I think you do.” I smirk while holding onto her hands, and then I drop lower as I drag my body down over on hers. She squirms, but she can’t do anything.
“Anton, Anton.”
My lips touch her, barely, and she squeezes her legs tight, locking my head between them. I have to remove my hands from hers to push myself free.
“Anton.” The voice is loud.
Looking back up, I see Samara’s expression and want to laugh.
“Mama, just wait,” I yell in Russian.
Samara pushes back and off me, scrambles off the bed and looks around for her clothes, which are downstairs.
“I have your lady’s clothes, Anton. Is she still in there?”
English, my mother chose to speak English. Fuck.
“Yes, leave them at the door.”
“Bring her down.” I hear her footsteps walking away, and when I turn, I see Samara with her hands covering her mouth and a freaked-out expression on her face.
She starts shaking her head rapidly. “I am not meeting your mother.”
“I have a better idea, let’s spend all day in bed while I fuck you until you can’t move.”
“Are you insane? Your mother is here.”
I shrug my shoulders. “She was here last night when I brought you home.”
Her hands drop to her sides, and she looks at me as if I’ve lost my mind. “This is your mother’s house?” I nod my head. “And you still live with your mother?” she asks, looking quite confused.
“Technically my father as well, but that piece of shit is always in Russia. My sister is here too, now that she’s no longer enrolled in boarding school.”
“Gosh, I don’t care… sneak me the fuck out of here now.” She pulls the sheet from the bed when she realizes she’s still naked and my eyes keep roaming.
“But I wanted to smell for daisies.”
“Anton, so help me God, I’ll bury you in the daisy bushes if you don’t get me out of here.”
I quirk an eyebrow at her—it’s her daisy bush I would love to be buried in.
“Not those ones, you perv, in the fucking ground.”
“I like it when you’re feisty with me,” I say, turning and opening the door to pick up her clothes, and that’s when I realize they are torn. Alyona walks out of her room, at that exact moment, with a few clothes in her hands and she walks them to me then smiles.
“Hi Sam,” she chimes, then walks off.
Closing the door, I hold both sets of clothes in my hand, the torn ones as well as Alyona’s.
“Why do you have two sets of clothes?” Samara walks up to me still holding the sheet in her hand in front of her as she reaches for hers, then realizes the same thing I did. She isn’t walking out in them. She looks up to me, her eyes have turned dark. They’re almost black as her anger builds, so I pass her the other set of clothing. She snatches them then walks away to my bathroom, slamming the door.
I guess that’s the end of my pussy patrol for the day.
